Arlington Bar and Grill defeats J&N 14-13 in a hotly contested match that went to the bottom of the eighth. John McGowan knocked in the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the eighth, John was also the winning pitcher. George Cole played great defense at third. John McGowan had 4 hits, Jim Doc Ranucci and Ralph Bondi each had 3 hits, and Paul Lastowski blasted a triple to lead the hitting.

J&N met Arlington Grill at Digilio today. Down 4 early draft picks, J&N brought in 3 substitutes: Mike Cring, Tom Robinson and Randy Petagine and we would like to thank them for helping out. In addition, I would like to publicly apologize to John Pucylowski for wasting his time and having him come down to the field only to find out that a combination of me not understanding the rules and bad team communication caused us to have to limit our use of substitute players. I am sorry, John. Regardless, we had a half-shuffled deck and the same result. Perhaps we shuffled the wrong half. J&N scored 5 in the top of the first. The Grill scored 5 in the bottom of the first. J&N scored 4 in the top of the 3rd. The Grill scored 5 in the bottom of the 4th. Then they scored 3 in the bottom of the 5th. Down by 4 in the 8th, J&N scored 4 in the top of the 8th. All tied up. The Grill scored 1 more with 2 outs to win it. Close but no cigar. Offensive stats for J&N: Dan Doyle 4/4 with 3 RS and 4 RBI’s, Tom Robinson 3/4 with 2 RS, Mike Cring 3/4 with 2 triples, 3 RS and 3 RBI’s, Jim Kirzoncic 3/4 with 2 RS and an RBI, Stan Silverman 3/4 with a RS and 2 RBI’s, Randy Petagine 2/3 with a Sac Fly and 2 RBI’s, Jaime Pagan 2/4 with 2 RS, Tom Giordano also had an RBI.

McHoul's 21 - TaxBrakes 19

At Sports Park Sr., two evenly matched teams played a nearly even match. McHoul's jumped to an 8-0 lead only to have TaxBrakes go ahead 10-8 after 5. McHoul's got 5 in the 6th only to have TB match with another 5. McHoul's scored 5 in the 7th, but TB responded with a blank.  McHoul's added 2 more in the 8th.  TB answered with 4 in the 8th but stranded the winning runs on base. Overall, a well-played game.  McHoul's leaders were Bob Digglemann who went 4-4 with a HR blast in the 7th. Rodney Deloatch, Bill Hanchett, Bob Cotter, and Joe Karam added 3 hits apiece as Joe had a few key doubles. Bill Volpe, Dave Napolillo, Ed Lyons and Steve Lynch added two hits apiece to pad the score. Everyone had at least one hit making it a whole team victory.

TaxBrakes was defeated by McHoul’s 21-19. It was a good all-around effort by a tired depleted TaxBrakes Squad who battled back from an 8-0 deficit to take the lead but just ran out of gas. Valiant effort on the mound by Andy Endsley who also had 2 hits. Other notable efforts: Mike Healy, Pete Longobardi, Roger Merritt and Mike Spinelli (1) all going 4-5, Emil Viola 3-4, BB, 6RBI, Larry Stewart 3-5 4R, John Berrocal 3-4, Donnie Black 3-5 Mike Spinelli (2) 2-5. 3RBI, and Gary DiMaggio 2-5.
