Arlington Grill 26 - Doyle's 21

Arlington Bar and Grill defeated Doyle’s 26 to 21 in a hotly contested game. A complete team victory. Hitting stars: Jim Doc Ranucci and Mark Joao each had 4 hits, one of Mark's was a home run. Ralph Bondi chipped in with 3 hits.

TaxBrakes 7 - J&N 6

The recipe for a TaxBrakes victory has been solid pitching by Andy Endsley and Joe DiChiara and great defense, again holding the opponent scoreless in five frames and holding on to another nail-biting victory defeating J&N 7-6. Hitting stars table setters Larry Stewart 3-3, Joe Wassweiler 2-3, Gary Dimagio and Andy Endsley kept up their hot hitting 2-2 each, RBI guys Emil Sandman Viola 1-1, BB, 2RBI, Roger Merritt 2-3, 1RBI, and Mike Spinelli 2 with a game changer two out 2RBI double, and John Berrocal 1RBI.

We played today at Sports Park Juniah

Softball’s very entertaining 

And they said we’d score some runs so stop complaining.

The fence is very eye appealing 

Just take your bats, give balls a beating

Try to remember the first 3 games of the season

We won’t be playing into the playoffs for no reason.

The game just ended seven to six

I don’t know anyone who took pix

Nothing all that worthy of note

Though Jim K made two good plays that helped keep J&N afloat

Diesing and Doyle each hit one over

Unfortunately just a double and not a homer

Our infield played well, as per ever

Outfield too, even that right field feller.

He threw a runner out at second

Cause a teammate yelled and then he threatened 

Not much else, not much scoring

I hope you didn’t think this boring.

Russ Gilmore 3/4 with a RS, John Warman 3/4 with a double, a RS, and an RBI, Stan Silverman 3/4 with an RBI, George Hammer 2/4, Frank Goberish 2/3, Tom Giordano, Dan Diesing and Jim Kirzoncic also had RBI’s. J&N would also like to send our sincerest condolences to the family of Jack Sullivan and to all of us, his friends, who will truly miss Jack and his ever present leadership on the Senior Softball Community.

Miller's 27 - A&R 4

At Sports Park Sr., it was a sad day learning about the passing of long time

Member Jack Sullivan. Before the game we had a moment of silence and Stan Smilkstein  talked about Jack, how much he loved the game and how much he wanted to improve the league and the game itself. After the Tribute to Jack, Miller's defeated A&R 27-4 . In the first, A&R stopped Miller's big 4 with a goose egg and A&R banged out 4 runs but after that it was all Miller's. Miller's scored 5 runs 5 times in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th innings and were very stingy with the gloves as the defense didn’t allow a run for the LAST 7 innings. Chris Thomas making 2 good catches coming in on the ball and Phil Chontos making 3 catches in a different zip code. But it was the Wall of Angelo Sblendorio (winning Pitcher) who stopped 5 bullets and had 2 knockdowns for outs up the middle. CBS DJ Cousin Brucie said it best “and the hits keep on coming.“ Leading the attack were Joe Yanarella 3/4 with a triple and Home Run, Jeff Noe 3/4, Dave Anduze 4/4 with a double, Chris Thomas 3/4 and a double, Dave Lowitz 3/4 with a triple, Phil Chontos 4/4, Dan Sopchack 4/4 2 doubles,Carlos Vasquez 3/3 with a double, Rich Hill 3/4, Tom Spider DeRito 3/4, Angelo Sblendorio 1/3 3 RBI ‘s,  Joe Kupiec 1/3 and Dewey Bogardus 0/1 with 2 big walks, one with bases loaded. And scored 3 times. Again Miller's would like to give our Condolences to Jack Sullivan's family and friends. Thank you Jack for all you have done to make this a great league.
