TaxBrakes 21 - A&R 17

TaxBrakes defeated A&R 21-17 in a wild 9 inning game in the broiling heat prevailing with some tough pitching by Andy Endsley and closer Joe DiChiara. TaxBrakes made some clutch plays and scored a boatload of runs with 2 outs. Joe Wassweiler set the tone going 5-5 with 4RBI, and Emil Sandman Viola exploding going 3-4 with 3HR, 7RBI, followed by Larry Stewart 2-4, 4RBI, Mike Spinelli (2), Donnie’s Black and Jim Thorne with 3 hits each. Mike Spinelli (1), Gary Dimagio and Pete Longobardi followed with 2 hits each. It was a total team effort to secure the win against a very good A&R team.

Today at Whitesell TaxBrakes beat A&R 21 to 17 in 9 innings. Stats for A&R: Johnny O 4-4 (3rs 3B}, Eddie Smilkstein 4-5 (2rs1rbi), Gary Lasko 3-5 (2rs 3rbi 2 triples}. Tom Robinson 3-5 (3rs1rbi), Joe Paolini 3-4 (3rbi), John Pucylowski 3-4 (3rbi), Ben Anker 2-5 (2rs 2rbi) Steve McGee 2-4 (2rs1rbi}, Stan Smilkstein 2rbi. Pizza Time 23 - McHoul's 11

Pizza Time played well on both sides of the field, Timely Hitting, Great Defense and only giving 3 outs an inning led to a 23-11 victory. The offense came out hitting with 5 runs in the top of the 1st and 6th innings, then 4 runs in the 5th and 8th innings. PT scored in every inning but the 3rd. The infield of Freddie Patterson, Rick Seirra, Mark Batastoni, Maurice Ragusa and Louie Rosenberg played solidly and made the plays when needed. The outfield of Reggie Dolson and Mike Vuozzo, Mike "Razz" Rassin and Pete Schwarze [Bye week player, Thank you So much Pete] held down the outfield. Da' Coach on the mound and Angelo DiGregorio catching worked well together. It was a game based on who could withstand the heat of the day, both teams played well considering the weather. Stats: Reggie Dolson 3-5 2runs 2rbi. Mark Batastoni 3-4 3runs 3rbi (2 Hustle doubles). Rick Sierra 3-5 2runs 2rbi. Pete Schwarze 3-5 4runs 3rbi. Maurice Ragusa 3-5 4runs (played a great 2nd base). Mike Vuozzo 4-5 2runs 2rbi (played great outfield). Da' Coach" 4-5 1run 4rbi, (pitched a complete game). Freddie Patterson 3-5 2runs, 1rbi (Played a great 3rd base!) Mike "Razz" Rassin 3-4 1run (hit the ball well). Louie "The Warrior" Rosenberg 2-4 2runs 2rbi (Played a great First base! He Battled the heat). Angelo DiGregorio had great at Bats!! 1Rbi (Caught the whole game). I want to wish Everyone a Safe and Blessed 4th Of July!!  HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY TO THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!! At today's Digilio oven, Pizza Time came out sizzling hot while McHoul's played stone-cold dead. Although we did match them with 5 in the first, the sweat in our eyes created a river of errors which probably gave them an extra 13 runs. Simply put, they were hot, we were not. Tony Dalia led our offense going 4-4, Rodney Deloatch, Jack Baxter and Steve Savod added 2 hits apiece. Hope you all have a Happy Fourth!

Miller's 13 - Arlington Grill 4

At Sports Park Jr, Miller's fired up the grill for an early 4th of July win beating Arlington Grill 13-3. Joe Yanarella went 3/3 with a walk, Jeff Noe 3/4, Angelo Sblendorio 3/3, Carlos Cyclone Vasquez 3/3 and Tom Spider DeRito 3/3. Dave Anduze 2/3 with 2 doubles and the other Dave Lowitz 2/3. Many of the hits came with 2 outs. Again, it was the defense that turned off the propane of the Grill’s bats. The Grill must have hit 7 hard hit balls but right at the well-defended Miller's infield wall. Angelo Sblendorio (Winning pitcher) pitched well with help from lefty reliever Phil Chontos who closed it out -to make it “Miller Time“. Miller's would like to wish the league and their family a safe and happy 250th July 4th.

Miller’s defeats Arlington Bar and Grill, 13 to 4. For the Grill: Rod Whitby was 3 for 3, Jack Hale was 2 for 2, Mark Joao, John McGowan, Paul Lastowski, and Denny Curtis were all 2 for 3, Drew D’Angelo and Ralph Bondi played great defense.

Doyle's 23 - J&N 9

Behind the pitching of Flash Prisco and Bill Hild, Doyle's beat J&N 23 -9. Excellent defense by Rob McIsaac, Brian Linn, Tom Hotailing, Al Hicks, Jim Guarnacio and Scott Babrowsky held J&N to 4 runs over the first six innings. John Cacciola 4-4 4 runs scored, 

Rob McIsaac 4-4 5 rbis 2 doubles 1 triple, Brian Linn 3-3 3 runs scored, Bill Hild 3-3 2 doubles 5rbis, Jim Guarnaccio 3-3, Scott Babrowsky 3-3 3rbis, George Norris a double and triple, Stan Zmudzinski 2 hits, Pat Towne 2 hits, Rick Willigan 2 hits.

Doyle’s defeated J & N at Sports Park Sr today by the score of 23-9 but it wasn’t as close as the score would lead one to believe. Oh sure J&N would get up and score one run but then Doyle’s would get up and score 5. It was like watching the swimmers at Martha’s Vineyard and hearing DaNa….DaNa…. You just knew that it wasn’t our day. Offensive stats for J&N: Tommy Giordano 3/3 with 3 RBI’s and a run scored, Dan Doyle 2/3 with a Home Run an RBI and a RS, Jim Kirzoncic 2/3 with a triple and a RS, John Warman 2/3 with an RBI and 2 RS, Frank Goberish 2/3, Russ Gilmore, George Hammer and Tom Milholm also had RBI’s.
