J&N 24 - TaxBrakes 18
Don’t panic everyone, J&N is back! After winning 2 in a row and going into the bye week, undefeated and smelling like champagne and caviar, J&N proceeded to lose 3 in a row and looked like a team searching for leadership and purpose. Fortunately, a mild mannered and self-styled motivational speaker who has seen "Rudy" 17 times took the floor and gave a rousing pep talk that inspired J&N to go out and conquer! First inning BAM! Diesing hits a base clearing triple and knocks in 2, 5 runs total. Second inning-small ball and 5 more. 3rd inning-4 more. Meanwhile the TaxBrakers were mounting their own attack and after 5 innings it was 17-16, J&N in the lead. We piddled around for another inning until the 7th when Diesing again went for the kill with a 3 run opposite field home run that put the matter to bed. In the top of the 8th, Russ Gilmore’s grab and throw to first sealed the win and the J&N Train was back to its winning ways. Hitting stars for J&N: John Warman 4/4, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 4 RBI’s, Dan Diesing 4/4, a double, 2 triples, a home run and 7 RBIs, Frank Goberish 3/3 and an RBI, 3 hits for: George Hammer (complete game winning pitcher, an rbi) and Russ Gilmore (a double). 2 hits for: Jaime Pagan (2 RBI’s), Dan Doyle, Stan Silverman (2 RBI’s), Von Ahouse (an RBI), Jim Kirzoncic (a double), and Tom Milholm (2 RBI’s). Tom Giordano and Andy Burger also knocked in a run.
