Mountain View Ranch 30 - J&N 9
J&N lost to Mountain View Ranch 30-9 and should have just stayed in bed. Mountain View pitched, hit, fielded and ran the bases whereas J&N did not. We hit the ball at people and didn’t catch the ball. We even trotted out our outfield alignment of Dan Doyle in left field and Dan Diesing in right field. Now who doesn’t love a handsome set of Double D’s?
Anyway Jaime Pagan went 3/3 with a run scored and John Warman went 2/2 with a walk, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI’s. Dan Diesing, Dan Doyle, Stan Silverman, Tom Milholm and Roger Simon each had an RBI or two. Gerard Haugh and Tom Milholm each went 2/3.
Doyle's 31 - Miller's 7
Doyle's defeated Miller's 31-7, hitting 12 balls out of McPeck field. Excellent defense led Pat Towne, Tom Hotaling, Scott Babrowsky, Jim Guarnaccia, Rob MacIsaac, and Bill Hild, held Miller's to 7 runs and gave Bill Hild the victory. Brian Linn 4 for 4, Jim Guarnaccia 4 for 4,
Rob MacIsaac 4 for 5, 4 doubles, John Cacciola 4 for 5, 2 doubles and one swinging strike out, Tom Hotaling 4 for 5, Doug McCracken 4 for 4, George Norris 4 for 5, 2 doubles, Bill Hild 4 for 5, 3 doubles, Rick Willigan 3 for 4, 1 double.
A&R 21 - Pizza Time 13
Today at Whitesell field A&R Security behind the hitting and pitching of Mike Cring beat Pizza Time 21 to 13. Stats for A&R: Carl Parris 4-4 (4rs3rbi), Tom Robinson 4-4 (3rs4rbi3b) Mike Healey 4-4 (3rs2rbi) Frank McHugh 4-4 (1rs2rbi) Mike Cring 3-4 (3rs3rbi, HR, Winning Pitcher), Steve McGee 3-3 (2rbi) Eddie Smilkstein 2-2 (2rs3rbi), Ben Anker 2-4, Greg Miller 2-4 (3rs), Stan Smilkstein 2-3 (1rs1rbi).
McHoul's 17 - Arlington Grill 3
At Digilio, McHoul's combined a solid defense with a good offense to secure today's victory. It was one of those days where both aspects of the game came together. Our rookie, Ed Lyons set the tone in the first inning with two pivotal catches in right field to hold their impressive batting order scoreless. He must have inspired the team as Bill Hanchett covered 150 feet to make 2 more great catches in left center while Rodney DeLoatch leaped a good 5 feet to grab a streaming line drive in short field while Bob Diggelmann made two more of his nearly impossible catches going back over his head at short. Offensively, Bob, Bill Volpe, Dave Napolillo and Joe Karem added 3 hits apiece while Rodney, Hanchett, Steve Savod and Joe Paoloni added 2 hits and a SAC. Jim Flood pitched a good game but didn't hit worth a damn. Everybody contributed as a team, but I can't mention them all but a great team effort, nevertheless.
Arlington Bar and Grill was buried by the Funeral Parlor known as McHoul's by a score of 17-3. For the Grill: George Cole, Ralph Bondi, Mark Joao, Paul Lastowski, Mike Brooks and Joe Pennachio all had 3 hits.
