Timely hitting and great defense kept Pizza Time in the game. PT jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning, led by the great hitting of Greg "Lou Piniella" Miller, Joe "Brett Gardner" Wassweiler, Roger "Derek Jeter" Merritt, Reggie "Roberto Clemente" Dolson, Tom" Brooks Robinson" Hotaling, Ray "Hit Man" Smith, Donnie "Dave Winfield" Black, Charlie "Robinson Cano" Melia, Joe "Bobby Richardson" Karam , Roger "Daniel Murphy" Simon {hit the ball real hard today}, Bert "Cy Young" Keating [pitched another great game]. McHoul's kept it close by scoring 15 runs in the last 4 innings, but great defense kept the powerful hitting team of McHoul's off the board 3 of the 8 innings. Great Game by both teams. Miller's 17 - Doyle's 13

At Sports Park Jr was the battle of the funeral homes . Doyle’s put Miller's in an early grave with five runs in the first inning, but Miller's came back and rose from the dead with five more runs in the first inning. Then Miller's had the spirit in the sky with five more runs in the third to take an 11 -7 lead. With a close game in the middle innings, Miller's had an angel in the outfield with Carlos (Cyclone) Vasquez making a diving catch with runners on base to stop Doyle's from going to the pearly gates. The pall bearers for Miller's were Dave (Costa Rica) Napolillo who went 4/4 with 2 doubles and a triple, John Warman 4/4 and a double, Tommy Borell 4/4 with a double and a triple, Rick Willington 3/4 with 2 doubles and winning pitcher Mike Capra 3/3 and Dan Sopchack with 2/2 with 2 big 2 out hits and 4 RBI’s. Miller's leaving Doyles in Mourning with a 17-13 win.

For Doyle's: Mo Ragusa 4-4, Dan Deising, Tom Derito, Flash Prisco, & Steve Schmid were all 3-4.

Mountain View Ranch 17 - J&N 9

For Mountain View Ranch: Lou Rossi was 4 for 4 and John Ostuni was 3 for 3.

For J&N: J&N highlight scribe Stan Silverman is being eerily quiet. POL pic requested please. Mountain View Farms defeated J&N by the score of 17-9 at Sheafe Road Field. J&N was ahead until the 6th inning and then the wheels fell off of the bus. Several defensive lapses let 5 runs score in each of the 6th and 7th innings. (You talkin' to me?!). Maybe next time. Hitting stars for J and N: Jaime Pagan 2/3 with a triple an RBI and 2 runs scored; Mark  Battastoni 3/3 with a double an RBI and 2 Runs Scored; Steve Savod 1/2 with a Sac Fly, and 2 RBI’s. Stan (maybe I should take the oven mitts off when I field) Silverman 2/3 with a double and an RBI. Jeff Noe 2/3 with an RBI and a Run Scored. Tony Scaduto 2/3 and Dick Michels 2/3 with an RBI and a Run Scored.

Respectfully submitted, Stan
