Today’s game played at Sports Park Jr was a close one until the fifth inning, and then J&N chipped away, but not enough to break on through to the other side. George Hammer went 2 for 4, Mike Spinelli Sr went 3 for 4, Jamie Pagan went 1 for 3 with and 2 RBI’s, Mark Battastoni 2/3 with an RBI, Steve Savod 2/3 with an RBI, Stan "Oven Mitt" Silverman 2/3, Von Ahouse 1/3, Tony Scaduto 2/3, Bill Volpe 1/3, Rick Brettholz 2/3 with an RB, Mike Spinelli 1/3, Dick Michels 1/3, And Joe DiChiara 2/3 with an RBI. Oven Mitt Silverman also made an unbelievable slide into third base. He started to slide feet first and then mid-slide switched to head first. His jumbled pile of body parts was safe at third. If Marcel Marceau had seen the slide, he would have said, "Why?" Now, hurry up and print this before Chris (Mike Lupica) Edwards takes up all of the room on the website.
