Mountain View Ranch 23 - J&N 0

Mountain View Ranch over J&N 23-0. What can I say when the best thing about today’s game is that it’s over. Beaten, mauled, slaughtered? Pick a verb, any verb. J&N fielded the best and only eleven players that we had and rolled the dice. We crapped out. Did someone say, “give us the highlights, the silver lining.” Well, I tell you, Frank Goberish had 2 hits! While everyone else had 1 or none (and Mountain View took Gary out and gave Steve Schmid several innings of work. He was just as effective. Good job, Steve). And our right center fielder caught as many balls as he dropped. Which gave him a better fielding average than batting average. 'Nuff said.

Miller's 22 - Doyle's 18

On a beautiful morning at Digilio park, Miller's defeated Doyle’s 22-18 for the bragging rights of the funeral homes' Golden Urn. With both team missing players, it was a close game. In the middle inning it was 11-11 and, in the 6th, Miller's scored five runs, but Doyle’s came back with their own five runs in the seventh. Miller's again scored five runs and again Doyle’s came back with their five runs so with the score tied in the eighth, Miller's opened it up with a six run eighth and stopped Doyle’s with only two runs. Leading the attack for Miller's were Chris Thomas going 5/5 and scoring 5 runs, Angelo Sblendorio who went 3/5 with a triple and a 3 Run Home run, Dave Lowitz going 3/5 with a home run. Coming off the IR list was Rich Sicardo coming up with two big hits and a sac fly, Jeff Noe with 2 doubles, Joe Yanarella with 2 doubles, but it was the 2 unsung heroes in Cary Wasserberg coming up big with a bases loaded single and driving in another run. Royal “Dewey” Bogardus  received the game ball by pitching a great game and was the winning pitcher. 

Arlington Grill 18 - McHoul's 7

Arlington Bar and Grill defeats McHoul's 20-6. Great defense and great offense! Mike Brooks led the hit parade with 4 hits along with Mark Joao who also had 4. John McGowan, Tom Mirande and Rod Whitby all had 3 hits, Rod's 3 were 2 triples and a home run! Everyone else had at least 1 hit. John McGowan pitched a complete game victory. The game ended with a great double play by Joe Pennachio.

At Sports Park Jr., the stadium the Grill built, Arlington "doubled" the score of McHoul's and then some.  McHoul's, missing a few key players, had a flat Friday in both offense and defense, Nevertheless, there were some shining stars.  Bill Hanchett went 4-4 while Kevin Laffin went 3-4. Bill Volpe, Jack Baxter, Dave Napolillo and Rick Wetzel all had two hits for the losing team. Jack also had a walk. 

Pizza Time 27 - A&R 10

With a shorthanded squad of 9, A&R put up valiant fight losing to Pizza Time by a score of 27-10. Led by the Gritty pitching performance of Greg Miller, making his first start in his lengthy career; Greg threw a complete game and if he had gotten a little better support from his fielders the run total would have been a tad lower.
