In a game that would match the story of David versus Goliath, Pizza Time took on the talented, powerful AR Grill team. Pizza Time would be called David and the Giant would be AR Grill. The game started off with PT putting 2 runs on the board. AR would take the lead back in the bottom of the 1st inning. AR defense stepped up and shut out PT offense for the next two innings, But in the fourth inning, PT put up a 4 spot, trying to keep the score within striking distance. But the Giant struck again and scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Pizza Time tried to find a rock to knock the Giant out, but in the fifth inning  AR defense shut out PT. Then AR offensively put up a 3 spot to take a 13-11, But PT wouldn't give up like David battling the giant!! Pizza Time found a stone that shocked the Mighty Giant and put up 5 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 3 run lead. The Giant [AR] wasn't going down easy, They scored 3 runs to tie the game at 16 heading into the 8th inning. With the scored tied, PT couldn't  score in the 8th and AR  loaded the bases, a play at the plate kept the inning  going as Charlie Melia fielded a ground ball and fired it home to Ray Smith beating  the runner for the out, but the next batter drove in the winning run. PT will keep fighting and never give up, !! STATS Greg Miller 4-4 4runs, Joe Wassweiler 4-4 4run 3rbi. J&N 24 - McHoul's 10

It was a hot, sunny day at Sports Park Senior when J&N drubbed McHoul's 24-10. It was tied at the end of the 2nd inning, 3-3. We all thought that it was going to be a close, low scoring game but then J&N went to work. Our pitcher, Joe DiChiara kept McHoul's off balance and off of the bases and when he didn’t, our defense shined bright like diamond. Shined bright like a diamond. We pulled off a couple of double plays. One stellar one, started by Jaime Pagan restored my belief that anyone willing to work and watch sports videos and pray, can one day learn to  pick up a ground ball or catch a fly ball. Jeff Noe even caught a few balls without leaving his feet! And Bill Volpe flashed more leather than Brittany Spears on stage.  It was a total team effort. We are jelling at just the right time. BEWARE!
